Colorado A well known and prestigious Children's Hospital in Colorado is seeking 3-4 EXPERIENCED NNPs and a LEAD NNP for its Level IIIC NICU. The state-of-the-art 60-bed unit will grow to 75 beds this summer. The hospital is a teaching facility providing regional care with all subspecialties represented, including some cardiovascular surgery and ECMO. The hospital currently employs more than two-dozen NNPs. The hospital is a tertiary referral center with all sub specialties represented. Position description includes transport (mainly ground and helicopter), patient care management and high-risk delivery attendance. The NNPs manage cardiac patients as well as ECMO. The NNPs also rotate out to other nurseries to cover labor and delivery. Four 10-hr shifts per week; 24-hour shifts also available; no nights except for moonlighting; residents cover at night. Maryland EXPERIENCED Neonatal Nurse Practitioners needed in Maryland!!! A well known hospital with a 25-bed Level IIIB NICU needs additional NNPs to provide patient care; provide staff education and attend high risk deliveries-approximately 1,800 deliveries per year with about 430 admissions to the NICU yearly. The NNPs also attend weekly conferences and meetings, and occasionally give lectures. They provide care for Extreme low weight infants. Some surgeries performed, but most babies are transported to a regional referral center for most surgeries, including cardiovascular. No transport responsibility. The NNPs work 12 hour rotating day/night shifts; staff 2 NNPs on at a time with a patient load of 12-13 babies. They take a multi-disciplinary approach with an emphasis on family centered care. Nebraska A free-standing Children's Hospital in Eastern NE is currently seeking 2 NNPs to work full-time in its 46-bed Level IIIC NICU. 36-hour work week; day/night rotation required. The NNPs perform a wide-range of advanced procedures and medical therapies, including ECMO. Candidates MUST LOVE SURGICAL CASES AND TRANSPORT. Experienced practitioners preferred, but new grads with extensive Level III NICU nursing experience will also be considered. The hospital has a 50-bed Level IIIC NICU and provides all subspecialties including open heart surgery and ECMO. The unit stresses developmental care. "IT IS ONE OF 3 HOSPITALS IN THE U.S. SELECTED BY THE MARCH OF DIMES for a PILOT PROJECT to assist families coping with the birth of a child who needs neonatal intensive care." It also has designated Magnet Hospital status providing services to a 17-county area. The NNPs also rotate to a 17-bed Level IIC and a 21-bed Level IIIA nursery in a hospital with a large delivery service to attend high-risk deliveries; thus providing the NNPs the opportunity for patient management in the Level III NICU, as well as delivery room experience. Some ground transport responsibility. The schedule is based upon a 40-hour work week; mostly days (6A-4P). Each NNP receives an educational allowance to apply toward CEUs. WILL HIRE NEW GRADUATES with a minimum of 3 years Level III NICU experience. A Very supportive environment for a new graduate. Tennessee A Southwest TN Children's Hospital that opened in June 2010 is building a team of 8 NNPs for its 36-bed Level IIIC NICU and special care nursery. This is a surgical unit where all surgeries are performed except open heart. The patient population contains many babies with congenital heart anomalies. The ECMO patients are in the PICU. This is a teaching hospital so the NNPs must be comfortable in an academic setting. They will teach residents, provide patient management and perform procedures. No transport or labor and delivery responsibility. 12 hour rotating shifts; The NNPs will work 36 hours per week, but be paid for 40 to allow time for educational projects. 24/7 in house Neonatology coverage. The hospital has magnet status and is a designated transplant center. The NNPs work 24-hour shifts managing the surgical and medical babies as well as feeders and growers. Washington, DC Two (2) NNPs are needed in Northwest DC. A well-known Magnet hospital is seeking 2 NNPs to work full-time in its highly acute 44-bed Level III NICU. 12-hour shifts (nights initially, then transition to day/nigh rotation); air and ground transport; some teaching responsibilities as this is an academic center; attendance at high risk deliveries in this perinatal center.
