The group provides neonatal services to 9 Level III and III+ NICUs and 3 Level II NICUs. The NNPs manage neonates on high frequency ventilation, conventional ventilation, and inhaled nitric oxide. The NNPs perform advanced practice procedures; attend high risk deliveries, and provide consultations when requested by Pediatricians. This is a busy practice that affords the opportunity to work with all levels of neonates with unparalleled Neonatologist support. Mainly 24 hour shifts. NNPs are responsible for direct patient care, delivery attendance and some rotational night coverage. Variety of patients and acuity; evidence-based practice; family-centered care. No transport responsibility. NNPs are employed by the Dept. of Medicine. Position is salaried, based on a 40-hour work week.

The NNPs work 24 hour shifts managing the surgical and medical babies as well as feeders and growers. There is no delivery room coverage or transport responsibility.
